Inframammary Incision

Inframammary incision is a surgical procedure used to augment the breast. The incision can be hidden in the breastcrease. It is visible only if the breasts have been lifted or uncovered. The incision can be easily hidden by a bikini top. It is suitable for both large and pre-filled silicone breast implants.

Incision technique

Inframammary is one of most popular breast augmentation techniques. This involves making a small incision on the breast and then inserting the breast implants. This breast augmentation technique is extremely safe. It doesn't affect the nipple and areola. It can be performed on breasts with large implants. This method is safe for breastfeeders.

Inframammary incisions have the ability to cut down on overall time. The surgeon performs this procedure using a stab-shaped incision, about 3 mm long, to insert a small infiltration cannula. The incision is then closed with 150mL tumescent solution to raise the pocket and promote hemostasis.

Criteria for inclusion

Inframammary fold is a crucial landmark in breast surgical. It defines the inframammary fold and defines the ptosis. This fold is also important for subpectoral and lateral implants. It helps to avoid implant movement. The fold is also vital for aesthetic and reconstructive procedures.

To be considered for participation in this study, women must be at least 14 years old and have a complaint of excessive inframammary sweating. A legal representative must sign the FITC on behalf of patients under 18. Not eligible are women who are pregnant or breastfeed. Patients are advised that participation is voluntary and not contingent on payment.

There are risks

Inframammary procedures come with risks. Lowering the inframammary fold can result in a double-bubble deformity where the breast tissue ends and the implant contour begins. This can cause a variety of problems, including breast cancer.

Inframammary cuts are less effective than those made at either the periareolar and circumareolar creases. This is due to the fact that the lower pole of your breast's sensory nerves can be stretched or cut by inframammary surgery. Inframammary can cause more nipple neoplasm than periareolar and are therefore less aesthetic.

Advantages

The inframammary Incision is the most used in plastic surgeries. This is due to its simplicity and visibility. It allows for direct access to the submuscular and subpectoral planes. This type is also less invasive than other incisions and presents fewer risks including infection and hematoma development. Furthermore, the inframammary approach is also ideal for achieving placement symmetry with minimal scarring.

There are some drawbacks to this method of breast augmentation. It is less precise than other techniques and can place the implants unevenly or too high on your chest. In addition, the scar that is left behind will not be as easy to hide as one may think.

Modified approach

The inframammaryfold, which is an incision that extends between the chest wall and the underlying glandular cells, is called a transverse incision. Multiple layers of absorbable sewn tissue are then used to close the inframammary fold. These sutures extend from the medial and the lateral edges of each breast. The skin disk is then moved towards the center of breast, bringing the disc to the original nipple–areolar location. The wound is closed with smaller gauge sutures.

The incision will be made along the inframammary (which is far from the flap’s edge). In some instances, special devices are used to harvest flap material, such as an endoscopic instrument or a retractors with a lighting system.
